Alps Art Academy is conceived as an international summer school for art students from Switzerland and all over the world. During one week (June 26 – July 2), 30 students got a chance to participate in four different Workshops and make Land Art pieces under the supervision of 8 lecturers. While 3 of the 4 workshops focus on making pieces and interventions in Safiental – some of which will be exhibited during the Summer (Art Safiental), the fourth workshop is a course on Land Art history, theory and mediation.
The academy’s opening symposium (June 26) and the opening (2.7) of the Art Safiental exhibition were open to the public. At the end of the academy, a short documentary and publication document and reflect on the findings and the newest tendencies of Land Art. Pension Alpenblick in Tenna was be the academy center. Participants were woring and creating throughout Safiental (from Valendas, Versam to Safien Platz, all the way to Thalkich and Turahus).
